• What if I live in a city somewhere other than Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth where heats are being held?

  It's not the end of the world... if you're able to get yourself to the heats in the capital city closest to you, then you're able to enter from anywhere in Australia. If you make it through to the Grand Final, we will cover flights and accommodation for you and your band (if you have one!) to fly from your nearest capital city to Sydney and back again.

• When will I be notified?

  Don't call us... !!
  Bands that make it through to the heats will be advised by phone and email no later than 5pm on Friday February 16, 2008. Bands who play the heats and are selected to play the Grand Final in Sydney, will be notified on the night of their heat and sent travel and accommodation details in writing after the event.

• Will I get paid?

  No. No moolah I'm afraid.
  There is a whole lot of promotion that you'll benefit from though...
  The heats and final gigs will be profiled heavily on FasterLouder.com.au and garagetov.com.au, plus we'll be running a series of street based marketing around the heats and finals. Your band will be featured and the exposure you receive from being selected by our judges to play the heats (and maybe the final) will lead you to much more opportunity for paid work in the future!! Promise.

• What if I win?

  We will all bow down and praise you, like the rock gods you are... no, really. If you win, you'll be opening the V Festival event in:
  • Saturday March 29 - Centennial Park, Sydney
  • Sunday March 30 - Avica Resort, Gold Coast
  • Saturday April 5 - Showgrounds, Melbourne
  • Sunday April 6 - Perth Esplanade
  We'll be covering your costs to get you and your band from the capital city nearest to you to Sydney, then on to the other cities and back to your nearest capital city again. We'll cover your accommodation costs as well.

• What if I lose my confirmation number?

  We'll ring your mum, and tell her how hopeless you are. NOT.

• What is Garage to V?

  G2V is an Australia wide competition that could see you and your band opening the main stage at all V Festival shows in 2008. Brought to you by Virgin Mobile, Garage to V was created as a way of giving new emerging talent from around the country first hand experience on the live festival circuit. Its pretty simple.....enter your bands details and music at www.fasterlouder.com.au and the G2V panel will select its favourites in each state to play the state heat. If you win that then you'll play the final in Sydney. If you win that, well the rest they say is history.

• What happens to my tracks when I enter into Garage to V?

  Your tracks will be uploaded to the Faster Louder website where the general public will be able to listen to them via an online music player. We don't own your music, the public can't download them and you can remove them whenever you want.

• Will my band get signed if I win?

  There's no record deal on the table here. By entering the competition, our panel of industry types will listen to your music. If you make the heats, you will get the chance to play in front of people who work in the music and entertainment bizness.

• Who chooses the bands to enter the heats?

  Our panel of judges will select their favourite bands from each state for the heats.

• What is the relationship with Virgin Mobile?

  Without Virgin Mobile, Garage to V wouldn't be happening. Simple
